AUC's Admissions Committee considers many factors when reviewing an applicant for acceptance to medical school. We encourage all applicants to speak with a member of our admissions team to discuss their opportunity to attend AUC, including the competitiveness of their MCAT scores, GPA and other Caribbean medical school requirements.

What Are the Requirements for Medical School Admission?
  •  A bachelor’s degree with a strong science background is a med school prerequisite.
  • U.S. citizens/permanent residents will need to take the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT)*.
  • Non-U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents: MCAT, UCAT, NEET/UG, or GAMSAT. 
  • Applicants must also submit a personal statement and letters of recommendation.
  • Official transcripts from every post-secondary institution (college-level or higher) where you have attempted course work are also required.
  • Students must also document their work experience in a resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV). 
  • Non-native English speakers must demonstrate their English proficiency by scoring 6.0 (competent user) or better on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or 75 or better (high-Intermediate) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

You'll be eligible to apply for licensure to practice in all 50 US states, Canada, to the UK and beyond.

Qualified United States citizens, permanent residents, and eligible non-citizens are able to apply and receive, if eligible, federal student loans through the Federal Direct Loan Program, which includes the Federal Direct Unsubsidized and Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan. Qualified students can borrow up to the cost of attendance. Students who wish to participate are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®).

How can I get my Visa?

How can I get my Visa?

If you are accepted, for a legal extended stay in Sint Maarten, you must have your passport stamped with the appropriate student visa from the Sint Maarten government. The government of Sint Maarten, with AUC’s support to facilitate the internal coordination process, will process the student visa prior to the tourist visa stamp expiration date in your passport (from when you first arrived in Sint Maarten). When you arrive in Sint Maarten, you will need to present your passport. You must show proof of a return date ticket.
