Preparing Physicians for Every Community

AUC School of Medicine is continuing to offer our Medical Doctor (MD) degree program and accepting applications for admission for future class start dates. More than ever, we are dedicated to preparing tomorrow’s physicians for the world’s complex healthcare landscape through interactive and virtual learning experiences, a diverse learning community, and an emphasis on social accountability.

With the evolving public health situation of COVID-19, we have temporarily transitioned our basic sciences curriculum to an online learning platform in order to continue supporting our students’ education, while they remain in the safety of their homes. We are well-equipped to deliver an interactive and seamless online learning experience, and will continue to enroll and start our programs without interruption. Students can look forward to supportive faculty, small class sizes and the one-on-one support that defines our internationally recognized MD program. Once it’s safe to do so, first and second year students will be transitioned to the Saint Maarten campus to continue study in our state-of-the-art campus facilities. View FAQs for more details

Why AUC?

Financial Aid for Canadians

We’re committed to working with you personally to help determine and facilitate any financial aid options available to you, including loans, scholarships, and grants potentially available in your province.

Scholarships & Awards

Nearly 10 scholarships are available to you as an incoming first-semester student — including the Canadian Scholarship, a renewable award that maxes out at $55,000 USD.

Is AUC accredited?

Yes. AUC's medical school facilities and curriculum are accredited by the Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM), which is the accreditor used by the country of St. Maarten. Being an international foreign operating school, AUC is not eligible to seek accreditation from traditional US accreditors.

How does that compare to US accreditation?

A special review board appointed by the US Department of Education (the National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation, or NCFMEA) has reviewed ACCM’s standards and determined that they are comparable to those used to accredit medical schools in the US. This is an important distinction for AUC, and one held by only a few Caribbean schools.

Where can I practice as an AUC graduate?

You’ll be eligible for licensure to practice in all 50 US states, Canada, and internationally.
